Production Engineer

We are looking for a Production Engineer to join the team. This is a role that would ideally suit an Engineer or Physicist with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in maintaining, trouble-shooting, and improving production processes as well as introducing new processes.

Scintacor is a world leader in phosphor and scintillation technologies. Our products allow the conversion of many different invisible radiations into visible light for imaging and detection applications.  We are located on the Cambridge Commercial Park – close to Cambridge North Rail station for easy commuting

  • Introduction of new production processes
  • Hands-on experience of mechanical / electro-mechanical production equipment including familiarity with control and automation.
  • Demonstrable logical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of production engineering activities within a technically challenging environment.
  • Versatility to work effectively, on a wide range of equipment and processes – both independently and as part of a close-knit, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Good understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.
  • Excellent communications skills, including liaising with production teams and external suppliers.
  • Cleanroom process experience.
  • Attention to detail and a critical eye for product quality,
  • A good degree in Engineering, Physics, or a closely related subject

This role is primarily to provide production engineering and problem-solving support to the production team to implement new processes, resolve processing issues, and to improve productivity.  This could be in the form of immediate corrective actions, or project based activities to improve quality / yields or reduce costs.

This role will be based at our Cambridge offices, but will involve working at other TQ Scientific facilities.  There may also be a requirement to travel elsewhere within the UK & Europe from time to time.

Working hours : Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week (times may be agreed with your manager)
