Cambridge, UK – 14 October 2025 – Scintacor, a global leader in scintillation and phosphor technologies, proudly announces the launch of BrightForm CsI, a new high-brightness, non-rigid Caesium Iodide (CsI) scintillator engineered to enhance performance across medical, scientific, and industrial x-ray imaging systems.
Jon Kemp, Managing Director of Scintacor shared, “Scintacor is proud to have developed this high performance columnar CsI scintillator. Designing out a fibre optic plate can make a significant difference to the affordability of a system, enabling even more customers in medical, security or NDT applications, to benefit from x-ray imaging.”
BrightForm CsI is built on a lightweight, non-rigid PET substrate that offers a compelling alternative to traditional fibre optic plate–based scintillators. Its micro-columnar CsI layer delivers exceptional brightness and sensitivity, enabling sharper imaging, reduced x-ray dose, and improved system efficiency. The material is highly resistant to delamination and is available in custom shapes and sizes, with edge-to-edge coating for maximum coverage.
This versatile solution supports a wide range of detector designs, from ultra-thin CsI layers suited to intra-oral dental devices to thicker layers optimised for high-energy and high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) applications. The combination of high sensitivity and a low-cost substrate makes BrightForm CsI particularly attractive for large-area and portable detectors.
BrightForm CsI is ideal for applications including dental imaging (intra-oral, extra-oral, and dental CT), mammography, fluoroscopy, scientific x-ray, pathology, non-destructive electronics testing, security screening, and dual-energy systems.
Now available for custom orders, BrightForm CsI offers imaging system developers a flexible, high-performance scintillator backed by Scintacor’s decades of materials expertise. For more information, visit our website or contact info@scintacor.com.
