Lower X-ray dose with maximised resolution and enhanced image quality are key advantages of using a Scintacor customised scintillation solution. We have applied our extensive experience in component technology, to create a range of custom dental caesium iodide (CsI) based scintillators.
High performance, robust scintillator for ultra-high resolution intra-oral imaging
High light output, fast response scintillator for high resolution upper and lower jaw imaging
High light output, fast response scintillator for high resolution cranio-maxillofacial imaging
The use of light-guiding micro-columnar CsI as the scintillating layer in Scintacor’s intra-oral devices, combined with X-ray blocking fibre optic faceplates (FOP) produces an exceptionally high resolution X-ray sensor for attachment to your CCD or CMOS based sensor. FOPs can be custom made in various sizes, thickness, and materials and the CsI layer thickness can also be tuned to either favour better signal to noise ratio (SNR) or resolution, or alternatively striking a balance between the two. Further performance customisation is possible by altering the reflector colour.
Generally, intra oral devices are available in fully encapsulated (FE) versions for greatest moisture resistance, but talk to us if you are making your own additional arrangements for moisture control as non FE versions can be discussed with lower costs and faster turnaround times.
Intra-oral fibre optic scintillators
The use of thicker, light-guiding micro-columnar CsI as the scintillating layer in Scintacor’s extra-oral devices, combined with high aspect ratio X-ray blocking fibre optic faceplates (FOPs), produces an exceptionally bright and high resolution X-ray sensor. Such devices are ideal for attachment to your CCD or CMOS based sensor or sensor array for jaw or head scanning applications. FOPs can be custom made in various sizes, thickness, and materials and the CsI layer thickness and reflector colour can also be tuned for the best balance between signal to noise ratio (SNR) and resolution.
Jaw and head X-ray scanning are dynamic applications which benefit from the use of Scintacor’s low afterglow CsI to limit motion smearing.
Panoramic and Cephalographic Extra oral fibre optic scintillators
Scintacor has been making CsI scintillator products for many years, tuning the CsI structure for maximum performance and offering a large range of custom build parameters so you can closely tailor the FOS to your specific dental, jaw, or head scanning application.
